What is Phonics?
Phonics is a method of teaching reading and spelling that focuses on the connection between sounds (phonemes) and the letters or letter combinations (graphemes) that represent them. By understanding these sound-letter relationships, children learn to decode written words, pronounce them correctly, and spell them accurately.

Why Choose Sai Lokshi Academy for Phonics Class ?
Our approach to Phonics goes beyond simply learning with sounds. We focus on:
Systematic and Sequential Instruction
We follow a structured and sequential phonics program that introduces sounds and letter combinations in a logical order. This systematic approach ensures a solid understanding.
Multi-Sensory Learning Method
We incorporate various multi-sensory activities, including visual aids, auditory exercises, and kinesthetic movements, to engage different learning styles and make learning fun and memorable.
Focus on Phonemic Awareness
We emphasize phonemic awareness, the ability to hear and manipulate individual sounds in spoken words. This crucial pre-reading skill lays the groundwork for successful decoding and spelling.
Blending and Segmenting Skills
We teach children how to blend individual sounds together to form words (e.g., /c/ /a/ /t/ = cat) and how to segment words into their individual sounds (e.g., cat = /c/ /a/ /t/).
Decoding and Encoding Practice
We provide ample opportunities for children to practice decoding (reading) and encoding (spelling) words using the phonics skills they have learned. This reinforces their understanding and builds fluency.
Reading and Spelling Development
Our phonics program directly supports the development of reading fluency and accurate spelling. As children master phonics skills, they become more confident and independent readers and spellers.
